Hello, world!

For weeks, months even, I have considered writing my thoughts and experiences as an imperfect follower of the Perfect Leader for all the world to read. Well, enough putting it off; let’s get started.

Perhaps you have also heard God’s call to turn and follow Christ.

It was so easy to perk up your ear and start taking a few steps in His direction. But then you started stumbling and going off course. How could that be? The same sins keep cropping up, time after time after time.

Maybe you were told promises of a rose garden life as a Christian. Life was supposed to be so much easier as a Christian than before. So, what’s with all the thorns? Maybe Christianity is nothing but a lie.

Maybe you started reading your Bible daily. But now you can’t remember the last time you opened it. At first, it was easy to open and read chapters, even entire books. But now, you’re lucky if you read so much as a single verse in month.

Daily prayer? Weekly? More like weakly, when it does happen to happen. If only you knew what to say and how to say it.

Maybe someone once asked why you are a Christian. “Because that’s what I grew up with,” was all you could manage. It was so half-hearted and sheepish you almost didn’t recognize your own voice.

Perhaps you are not a follower a Christ, but there is something about Him that catches your interest.

Over the years, I have fit the mold on some of the above. I still do on some, and I want to do better. Not because I think anything I do will earn me a place in heaven, but because of what Jesus Christ has done for me.
